The VITAL team, after three years of research, with the weavers from Pitumarca (Peru), has designed the PONCHO VITAL.

This Poncho, like all the weavings handmade by this community of weavers, is a piece of the highest quality for its entire artisanal process. The alpaca wool used to weave this piece comes from the mountains of this place. The different shades of the Ponxo weaving are all natural, obtained by a meticulous selection of wool from different alpacas. Mrs. Porfiria Melo is the weaver who weaves, each Poncho.

The alpaca fiber is spun by hand with the traditional spindle and according to a very careful technique passed down from generation to generation. Once the yarn is made, according to the different shades of the alpaca fiber, the warp begins to be made on a traditional waist loom according to the design of each Poncho. Once this first step is completed, the weaver begins to weave it. As this is a completely manual process, a Poncho may require, from the beginning of the warp to the finishes, once removed from the loom, more than six months of dedication.
