Truly woven in Andorra, Pyrenees.
From the Mediterranean to the Cantabrian Sea stretches the very long backbone of the Pyrenees. This geographic expanse has had its own cultural, agricultural, and spiritual identity for centuries. Andorra, despite its small territory, is part of this vast geography and its rich heritage.
With the aim of preserving the identity of this small country, the VITAL project was born. Its first initiative is to save the lambs from destruction when the sheep are shorn each spring.
With this natural fiber, mountain dwellers have always dressed to protect themselves from the cold and have made it an indispensable material for a good bed.
Now VITAL creates, with the same natural fiber, the tapaboques from shepherds, reproducing the design and texture that shepherds in the Pyrenees have traditionally worn to protect themselves from the cold and rain. The blanket has been used by shepherds for centuries; in its shape, weight, and texture, it embodies an ancestral tradition. We hope that this new resource, made possible by the wool of our sheep, makes a beautiful contribution to this legacy we joyfully receive and, with the same joy, we would like to pass on this understated blanket inspired by the rich pastoral culture of our region, as well as that of the entirePyrenees
